The return of the human: why VUCA eats machines for breakfast
10:10 - 10:40
Christoph Fellinger, Beiersdorf
Keynote

Opening keynote of Christoph Fellinger, Head of Early Career Programs at Beiersdorf AG. He will ask: who’s the better recruiter: machine or man? Are Chatbots, machine learning and artificial intelligence better suited for selecting the talent we need for the future? Or are they just hype of the day, technically fascinating, definitely helpful yet awfully overrated? In this talk Christoph will look at the chances and limitations that tech has to offer in identifying and selecting future talent.

Christoph started his career in corporate communication in the music industry before moving into Human Resources at Beiersdorf. Hypergrowth: What you don’t know, kills your growth
10:40 - 11:10
Sophie Theen, 11FS
Keynote

The common misperception of hypergrowth in any company is that it’s all about attracting new talent, in bulk, rapidly. Sounds simple but how do companies get this so wrong? “Good intentions, wrong execution” we say. The truth is, the secret to successful hyper growth only has 1 key ingredient; the people. Companies need to learn to build an effective talent function to attract the right kind of talent and then master the shift of cultural paradigms during these stages of growth using structured, disruptive thinking. You will come away learning to recognise the talent types that thrives successfully in this environment, the methodology to run TA smoothly and finally, how to get your leadership to care about their people.

Grote zaal / Big hall (ground floor)

About Sophie Theen
Sophie was described as a reformed engineer when she had her first taste of HR with IBM Australia. She went on to pursuing a career in fixing problems in people, not machines. For 5 years, she had led recruitment projects with Ford, General Motors, IBM before moving to Revolut and led them through hypergrowth bringing their final headcount to 300 in under a year. Now, she joins 11FS (a Challenger Consultancy) to define their ultimate working culture via a series of employer branding efforts. Her focus is aimed at cultural paradigms during hyper growth stages in a start-up and championing diversity and equality in a future focused way. With a Masters in Project Management she loves a challenge in solving people problems in organizations using structured, disruptive thinking. “People are your future”, she recites.

Location: Bibliotheek / Library (2nd floor)

Aron Schilder (Recruit Robin)

Aron Schilder started his recruitment career over 10 years ago when he was still studying. His first job was as an account manager for a recruitment agency in the financial sector.

He soon realized that this was something he could start on his own, yet slightly different. He saw little to no implementation of technology in the recruitment sector and saw this as a huge opportunity to gain a competitive advantage in the market.

He then founded his own recruiting business called “Mijn Sales Recruiter”, a staffing & recruitment agency focused on recruiting passive sales professionals and helping them fill their ambitions. This organisation used software to optimize the recruitment process. However, they found that sourcing was a very time-consuming activity and no good sourcing automation software was available.

From that moment, Aron decided to develop a sourcing tool that could speed up this sourcing process for the organisation internally. Once he and his team realized this could be extremely valuable to the entire recruitment industry, the plan changed and the tool was launched publically.

That makes Aron the founder of a second recruitment organisation: Recruit Robin; the A.I. sourcing tool that automates the sourcing process.
